Woodworking tool ring master
Other then enjoying Mike's presentation thanks for the pictures, I still might get around to making somethings yet. I wanted to mention that the shopsmith version of this tool mounts to the tubes of the shopsmith. I'm not so sure how easy it would be to mount on a power stand but it something to think about. So far I've made some circles with it. Found it worked well for that but I hope to expand to a simple bowl soon Never been mounted. Scared to get started on something different than I've been doing.
Might get to like it too much. Ringmaster style ring cutter. Don C Davis. I have and have used a 'mount to your lathe type' Ringmaster tool and built several bowls with it--I actually like them quite a lot. If anyone knows of someone who could make such a tool, I would gladly pay a reasonable price for it, likewise if someone know what specifications a tool like this would require, I would be willing to find a machine shop to build it for me..

He is doing class at the Florida symposium. I cut a wooden guide for the angle. Square the toolrest to the lathe hold the wood angle to the toolrest to get the correct angle for the parting tool. After the first ring is cut I use it for the angle guide. She cuts the rings on the bandsaw. You can also make a spiral cut with bandsaw saw like the bandsaw baskets.
Glue the seams. Pull it up and clamp it. This is a cool bowl too. Very small kerf. Blades go through a drilled hole. Will be depth limited. Ring Master Cutting Angles Post by paulmcohen » Sun Jan 06, am The instructions that come with the Ring Master have a very complicated way to calculate the cutting angle when they could have just included a table. I used Excel to calculate these so it anyone wants the template just send me private mail. Maybe only trial and error will tell! Octogenarian's have an earned right to be a curmudgeon.
